Because you had gestational diabetes doesn't automatically mean you will get type 2, although you are more at risk.

I'm afraid we can't help much, other than to say take some deep breaths and tell yourself whatever the results of the test are, they won't change by worrying about them. They will be what they are. :)

I hope all goes well with your chat to the GP and if it turns out you have Type 2, don't hesitate to come back and tell us what the results were, and ask any questions you like.

I'm tempted to suggest that they need a different system of informing patients that they need to speak to the GP, like having a GP available to talk and sooner rather than later. Perhaps a gentle hint to them might make them think twice next time.

Try not to worry, easier said than done I know.

All the very best.

It's understandable, and please forgive me but keeping surgeries informed of our feelings is something I get on my soapbox every now and again. We, the people of this country, aren't very good at complaining, well most of us aren't any way. I'm just suggesting that we should say what we think and better still put it in writing. That way you have plenty of time to compose what's to be said and how to say it. Plus they should have a record of what you're saying that they can't argue with, misinterpret or whatever. Sometimes it's also good therapy.

Hope you get on well.
