oh right that makes sense! Thanks very much for your kind commentsYou have, perhaps, become a little less insulin resistant. This would lead to a an improved metabolism when it comes to diet.
Welcome to the forum. Fantastic work on your HbA1c, well done.

thanks for that Guzzler, I wont be returning to my old habits - I enjoy feeling so very much better. Im finding my way round the site, and it seems great, full of friendly people and great info! But, of course you know that a return to a 'normal' diet would mean a return to higher blood glucose levels and raised A1c. I have just put this info in now so that newly diagnosed members are clear on the misconception surrounding so called cures for Type 2 Diabetes. Have a wander around the forum, I'm sure members would be interested in any tips and hints you may have.
thanks for that, most of my weight loss was within, say, 10 months. I keep trying but cannot lose another ounce! Have been the same for about 4 months now, no matter how hard I try!I’m finding the same. I’m a year from diagnosis, meds and diet stays the same, weight loss was huge at the start and continues to trickle down, but so does my estimated HbA1c! (Apart from a blip in Feb as I had surgery and steroid jabs at end of Dec!)
thanks for that! I agree, and I cant imagine a time when I wont be careful now. I just hope I caught it early enough that I can avoid complicationsAll your good work is getting you to a point where you could be considered to be "normal"..... but of course you've had to do, give up, a lot of stuff to get there.
You've done amazingly well.
The trick now, is to keep it going, doing all that stuff.
Having done it and felt good, I'm sure, from the benefits of over 4 stone and all associated things, it does make it easier.
I will you well.
It definitely gets much harder as you get nearer your target weight. I hit a plateau a month or so back. I stay on 40-60g of carbs per day, I’ve never counted calories but I did start being more careful with the added fats, cream etc.. I have around 13.6kg (2 stone) left to lose and I just see 0.2kgish come off each week now but at least it’s coming off.thanks for that, most of my weight loss was within, say, 10 months. Very well done on your weight loss and HbA1c. I have lost 3 stone and am finding it hard to shift any more weight. I'm now cutting even more calories from my diet and increasing my exercise in a hope to get the weight loss moving again.

any weight off is great - keep at it! I was reading recently that too much protein can also store as sugar if you eat too much? My protein consumption is probably very high as my go-to's when I am stuck for a meal or snack are olives, cheese, eggs etc. So, I am trying to re-think my diet now - i feel like i need a maths/science degree! It definitely gets much harder as you get nearer your target weight. Edited to correct stone to kilo conversion, maths never was my strong point!
hi, I am keeping IF as a last resort - if I dont eat something within a certain time frame it makes me really dizzy/sick. However I havent looked at the full info online so will do that thank youHave you considered IF or intermittent fasting as a way of kick-starting your weight loss? There is a lot of information if you Google it. Read anything by Dr Michael Mosley or Dr Jason Fung.

lol that is a very good question to which I have no good answer! I guess the word "fasting" reminds me of diets I would go in in my youth where I would be starving for days - I just havent looked into IF so I need to understand it - it is on my radar now thanks for asking which has given me a push!I have to ask why? It’s such a powerful tool.
