HBA1C results

Hi everyone,

I'm T2, currently taking Dapagliflozin 10mg and Sitagliptin 100mg daily. I've just had my HBA1C results back and they are now 59, down from 60. Three months ago they had gone down from 70 to 60. My diet has been absolutely terrible due to my mental health being so bad and horrendous peri-menopause symptoms so I really can't complain, I'm frankly amazed they have decreased at all.

The Dapagliflozin must be doing an incredible job and it makes the side effects from it more bearable. I also noticed quite a difference in eGFR results, up from 59 to 87 this time and Creatinine at 70 down from 72. Are these ok results, I'm not too sure of this?

Last time I saw my DN she prescribed Rybelsus which I have to be honest and say I haven't taken yet, my mental health had been so bad I couldn't face taking something else which might make me feel even worse, but I am going to start taking it this week and see if it can curb my appetite and help me get back on track. Also back on the eggs for breakfast and trying much less sugary treats and less carbs, I'll need to go slowly again and retrain my mind to stop self-sabotaging. Does anyone have any tips to get back on track with this? Thanks.

Maggie

Well Maggie, it seems to me that you are making baby steps and things are moving in the right direction for you. Clearly you already know that carbs are evil and need to be punished, I mean avoided. I believe that Rybelsus is an appetite suppressant and also helps reduce the food noise in your head. That being the case, it should help you along nicely.

It is great news that your hba1c is going down, but I can't comment on the other numbers you mentioned, as I don't know what they are!

All the best.

Thank you for your reply, I'm definitely trying hard with the carb lowering this week and hopefully the Rybelsus will help me with that, as well as overall appetite suppression. I'm just taking it one day at a time, baby steps but hopefully better than nothing. All the best.

Maggie
