Hi,
After spending a week asking the surgery fr my results, I was finally given them and they (selected few) were as follows:
HbA1C - 34mmol/mol
Plasma Glucose Level - 9.5mmol/l
Hemoglobin estimation - 143g/dL (rage is form 140.00 to 180.00 g/dL)
My previous HbA1c results were 37 in February, 46 in December and 118 in August 2014 so there is a general downwards trend.
My question/query/worry is that based on my blood sugar levels the HbA1c result should have bee around 41mmol/mol (I use the Freestyle Libre so have continuous data), the the reading at the time of the blood being taken was 8.4mol/l.
I started to think the low HbA1c was down to the red blood cells not lasting the full 90 days, and looking at the hemoglobin estimation and seeing that my level was in the lower end of the range, is this causing the HbA1c result to be lower than it should?
At 34mmol/moll I need to think about removing Gliclazide from my medication (i've already been told to remove the Gliclazide but have refused) but want to make sure the results I am using to change my medication are valid.
