HbA1c rising :(

I went to the doctors the other day as I am getting all the symptoms I had when I was first diagnosed with Type 2 in Nov 2014. The Dr sent me for my HbA1c yesterday and the results are back at 86! Currently on Metformin 2000g daily, what will happen now? more meds? insulin?

Yes, more meds, but unlikely to be insulin as yet.

Are you keeping to a suitable diet, and are you testing frequently?

Rather than relying on your HbA1c, it is best to rely on your meter. Perhaps you could go back to testing before and after meals, keep a food diary, and try to keep any rise from before to after as low as possible, and definitely under 2mmol/l (preferably less).
