HbA1c Test

Thank you for that and the link.
My DN wanted me on satins,I said I would think about it and i have decided against it,I have had no heart problems, and there seems to be a lot of down sides to it..
Congratulations you have done so well, all you lovely people motivate me to do better.

Thank you all for your help.
Jack the fatsecret site is good.
Sanquine your LDL is higher than mine if I am reading it right,my DN was more concerned about that than the diabetes I dont know a thing about trigs but mine was 1.2, total cholesterol 4.8 HDL1.8 LDL2.5 all very confusing.

Your cholesterol components are fine as far as I'm concerned, but of course I am not a doctor. They do like to see under 4 for total and under 2 for LDL for diabetics, but yours are all within the "normal" recommended limits, and apart from the Trigs, better than mine. My Trigs (0.7) reduced after being on my low carb/mod fat diet to an amount lower than when I used to be on statins. My GP also told me that diabetics are put on statins as a matter of routine. This is the usual One Size Fits All with no account taken of individual circumstances.

Good for you about the statins, you would do much better with a little more exercise and also dropping some of the carbs will also help bring the LDL levels down a little

Hello Andrew.
I cant cut out more carbs ,Im only 9st and 5ft 6ins.i dont eat bread ,potatoes, rice pasta cakes ect.
I swim twice a week for an hour each time, but due to a bad hip which is being replaced in October I cant walk a long distance.I do my house and garden and keep as active as I can.

Well I actually don't think you have anything to worry about - look at this table. I would say she is trying to fill her quota. I would tell her to look for another victim. Good luck on the hip. You are obviously doing the right things and I am sure come October you will see further improvements.
