Just a post to get a moan out of my system but my HBA1C was 7.5 today which is up from last time. I was expecting a better result I have to be honest as it seems I spend most of my life adjusting basals and working hard to get numbers within range. Two years ago, post pump, I would have been mightily pleased with this result and the consultant was ok with it. She said it will fluctuate up and down as life is not just as straight forward as getting under 7 all the time for some people. She also said that with the complications I've had recently with other issues this is good. So I feel a bit better about it already having written this down!! I told her that testing was my lifeline and it does really give me re-assurance (I test a lot). She said once I'd seen a cognitive behavioural therapist about taking things more in my stride my testing could be reduced to 4-5 times a day. I had to say to her that this would not be possible as you test pre and post meals/food (6) before (and during) driving (4) and when I feel hypo or am ill so 10 is my minimum. As my husband works away quite a bit I also test more then. I was surprised when she suggested this amount of testing with a pump!!
