I am told that it is now 31 (history 113 - 38 - 38 - 31)

annual review with the diabetic nurse in 10 days.

does anyone know what that will mean for my meds? I am on 4x500mg metformin a day.

thanks

I'm surprised that they kept you on max dose of metformin with the 38's.

Well done!

If you want to come off the meds, just ask the nurse. If she says no, ask her why. If she says because they are the reason you have normalised your BS levels, tell her it is your diet that has done this, not the Metformin, and ask her to let you have a period of time without the meds to see what happens. She can't force you to take them. All she can do is advise and give you a prescription.

Do you measure your bloods regularly so you can see if anything changes?
If so then it's your body so you decide what goes into it?
If you aren't self monitoring then consult with the DN and see if you can get increased frequency of HbA1c's while you lower the dose slowly.

will do. I have a meter and will check periodically after meals...but if my weight stays off and my exercise stays on, then I hope to be ok.
