Type 2 HBA1C

Not diabetic but hypothyroid had recent HBa1c and it was 53 previous was 37 only had 1 high one in 4 years 42. I cut down on treats just had low carbs and 2 weeks later was 37. My question can it come down that quickly

Although the HbA1c is a sort of 12 week average a couple of weeks of low carb will make a difference. 53 to 37 is quite a drop. The reason they give a second test is to check the accuracy of the first one so I suppose it's possible that the first test was inaccurate. Whatever the case I think it's pretty clear that you do better on a lower carb diet

Thanks for reply forgot to say I had also increased my steps in those 2 weeks ie short walks after meals. Btw I am normally active anyway and weigh 7 st 6 pounds
