I don't have a clue tbh I'm still getting my head around the insulin . I struggle remember to even take it at times :/

Notice you are using Novorapid & lantus insulin's.

Ask your Dr or DSN to prescribe the NovoPen Echo for your Novorapid insulin, it's a pen that has a built-in memory function that says how much time has passed since you last injected, it also shows the dose administered and has the added benefit that it can dial-up in half unit doses, for you lantus pen you can purchase the memory devices such as Timesulin.

Both won't prompt you to take your insulin but they come in handy for those times when you have doubts as to whether you've injected or not.

As you are in RoI have you tried asking for advice on Boards.ie?

there is a long thread about diabetes support in the health/longterm illness section(link below). Maybe someone can give you advice on how to get the help you need from the Irish medical system over in Tralee.

You do have my sympathy. I was diagnosed in the West of Ireland and my gp was grand with blood tests etc, getting an appt was a bit of a challenge when it came to the clinic.

Bowiiee, get on to your gp and ask for a referral to the diabetic clinic of your local hospital (I'm in Dublin so don't know the name). You should be seen at least once a year in a type 1 clinic, you should also see the chiropodist, dietitian and ophthalmologist at least once a year too.
