Hi all

Thanks to the forum over the last few weeks it has been very useful to help me along on this unwanted but necessary journey lol

Going for my 3 month review hbac1 next Monday. Only diagnosed three months ago on hbac1 70.

Told i had diabetes by text can u imagine 3 months ago but i been given few months to try and control it without drugs yet.

.i did do a variation of 800 low cal diet for 8 weeks but ate 1000 cals as 800 was too low for me.

lost 15 kg and doing low carb and walking a good bit every day so going well.

regularly get readings first thing in morning of 5.4-5.8 and often in mid to late 5s 2 hrs after meals sometimes with little difference before and after the meal although i only eat about 20g carbs in any one meal.

I have never measured anything over 6.8 in last 8 weeks and litwerally this was just about twice earlier in the process.

im hoping to get at least mid 40s reading, what you think?

Thanks Paul

Very possible, but it’s such a hard thing to accurately predict, even using a CGM as the finger pricks are measuring something totally different.

I think you will get a brilliant result.
If you dont it might just be one or 2 things that don't follow the rules they should! For example a recent 14 days monitoring g with a libre showed me that my body doesn't like peppers. Now peppers are low carb and I never tested for them in the early days because I assumed they wouldn't be doing me any harm, after all they are above ground salad right? Wrong, they haven't read the rules and spike me in to the mid teens, naughty peppers
Just saying that diabetes often throws a curved ball, but you seem to have set out good pitch and deserves good result. Do keep us posted

Hello and welcome,

It looks like you are doing great. Just remember it is a marathon not a sprint Don't be too disappointed if you don't get what you hope there is always next time.

You have done amazingly and I am sure that with your results you will surprise your health care professional.

Just shows what a change you can make with sufficient information and incentive.

well done!!!
