This spring I (49 years old, female, T2 for 8 years, Ac1 40), had to go to the ER because my heart was skipping beats, and they determined it was due to a confluence of factors - I had had a cold two weeks previous, I was dehydrated, and I had a heavier than usual start to my period the same day. I was told that skipping beats wasn't dangerous and sent home.
My heart never races, it never goes too fast, it's just these skipped beats. In the past months the skipped beats have increased - at times I might skip 5-6 beats in a 30 second period. I also feel a squeezing sensation at the top of my heart.
My cholesterol levels are within accepted parameters, my blood pressure is "like an 18-year old's" according to my GP (110/70) and my resting heart beat is around 66. Is skipping beats a typical diabetes symptom? Should I see my GP despite the ER reassurance? I am not stressing more than normal (shcool teacher, ha!), and I don't have anxiety,
