Here we are , type 2 taking Byetta 10ug (which is not working) last Hba1C 9.3 getting stressed and a better treatment.
Over the lst 5 years I have been a guinea pig and have tried all of these, Victoza, Gliclazide,Glimepriide, Glipizide,Sitagliptin,Pioglitazone,Exenatide, the only treatment that has any effects is Lantus, 45ug at night.

Getting sick of seeing the high's in the morning and during the day , the sweating after eating and drinking and the general feeling of being unwell, I do believe that half the problem is that I have 3 people treating me the Hospital Consultant , that passes on to Diabetic Nursing team, then the Practice nurse at the Gp Surgery, and it takes so long to see any of them when problems occur, feel like throwing it all in the bin and taking my chances.

Hi melboi and welcome to the forum :)
Being Sunday, it's quite quiet here today but I'm sure that you will get replies from other members who take some of the same medications as you do when they come back on the forum.

Ask all the questions you like as there is always someone who will help.

If all of those didn't work and insulin does I would ask the consultant if he/she is confident of the T2 diagnosis.

There are tests they can do to confirm the diagnosis and you should ask about them.

On the other hand, no amount of oral medication will totally offset the effect of a poor diet.

You might need to carefully control how many carbohydrates you eat, then the oral madication might have a more dramatic effect.
