Hi, my name is Neil. I live in Plymouth in Devon and am 41 years old. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about 2 years ago at a medical I took following the death of my dad. His parting gift to me was to get myself off my backside and go to the doctors for the first time in almost 20 years. Had I not gone, I would have lived in ignorance of my Diabetes until it was probably too late.
I have lost almost 2 stone since first diagnosed and hover around the 15½ stone mark at the moment. Unfortunately, this is still not good for someone who is only 5 feet 4 inches tall!
I take Glucophage, Lisinopril and Simvastatin daily and eat a low fat diet. I don't exercise enough but try and go for a walk after breakfast every day.
