Hi everyone my name is Gary i find this site very interesting reading 12mths ago i was diagnosed with suspected type 2 which was left untreated diet only for 6 mths on having a blood glucose tolerance test my result was 10 so the doctor asked me to go on medication for 6 weeks then to return for a blood and lipids test. I was wondering is this normal practice the medication im on is metformin twice daily and pravastatin to be taken at night i would be very grateful for any feedback on this as im kind of confused with this diabetes thing due to lack of knowledge or could it be denial i dont know many thanks gazz.

Hi no need to reply seen the doctor today everything is ok at the moment took me off medication seems my exercising 6 times aweek and the right diet is working for now thanks anyway.

Well done Gaz - looks like your hard work is paying off - I am fairly new to this too so tend not to give advice out but as you say reading the forum is a great way to learn
