Hi everyone.
I was diagnosed with type 2 about a year ago and have spent that time worrying about everything. I used to work as a class 1 hgv driver and used to load and unload my lorry myself which helped me keep my weight right down. After having surgery on both knees and the procedure going horribly wrong it left me out of work (forced retirement) and unable to exercise which in turn made me pile on the weight. My blood / sugar level is steady at between 6.0 and 7.2 which is good considering where it was when I was first diagnosed and my blood pressure is being controlled by Ramipril. For my type 2 I am taking the injections (whatever they are called).
I also suffer from a severe case of gout (my right toe is three times the size it should be with hard crystals around the joint) and they won't operate on me because i'm a diabetic however it looks as though the crystals will break through the skin soon so even more problems will arise then and i'm pretty sure they'll be forced to do something about it.
To say I am depressed is an understatement. I've spoken to my doctor about it all but i'm getting nowhere fast. I used to be out and about all the time enjoying life with my lovely wife and son and now i'm stuck indoors hardly able to move. Please tell me things improve with this diabetes malarky, if this is the rest of my life I wouldn't want to go on.
Apologies if i've depressed anyone.
