Hello fellow diabetics

Currently very depressed by recent diagnosis of Type 2. Not overweight so not going to help me to lose weight or am I wrong?
Yes, you are wrong, sorry! You are what's known as a TOFI, thin on the outside, fat in the inside. Not a very pleasant term but it means there's been a build of fat around your liver and other internal organs, very different to the adipose fat most of us show on the outside
Yes low carbing will help get rid of that. You may go bot too low for a while but it's worth it while your sugar lowers.
Google TOFI or search the forum and you'll see your not alone

i was ill with virus symptons ,and didnt eat for 3 days ,and i put on 2 ibs.can anyone explain this for me xx

Weight fluctuates throughout the day massively. I weigh 1.5kg more at night than the morning

Additionally, i found out that low carb diet does wonders for keeping blood glucose under control however does not always help to lose weight.

The key is low carb and calorie counting. You can be low carb but eat a positive amount of calories and you will gain weight.
To lose weight you need to be a negative caloric balance. I.e. burn more than you eat.
For reference, i am on 2000 calories currently as im desperatly trying to maintain weight. During my weight loss journey i was 1000 only.

Agree. Although low carb and Keto I try and keep calories between 800- 1100 a day. It seems to be working well.

Amazing job, well done I love a success story

You are not alone. I'm not overweight either... type 2.. its aack of exercise and wrong nutrition... the good news is that the better food is quite tasty

I am trying low carb to see if I can get my HBA1c down by next blood test.
