Hi everyone, my name is Brian, from Weymouth in beautiful Dorset.
I have only just been diagnosed (Wednesday) with type2 diabetes, and so am obviously at the very surprised and confused stage, which I'm sure you have all gone through.
I'm hoping that this forum will prove useful to me as I try to get used to the idea over the coming weeks and months.

Hi Brian,
A warm welcome to the forum.
Once you have got your head around your diagnosis ask as many questions as you like. It does take a while to sink in and I think most of us would agree that we saw it in a negative light. It does get a whole lot clearer once you understand that it is manageable.

Thanks Catherine. Must admit that even after just a few days with the diagnosis, I am already feeling much more positive about it. Obviously it comes as a shock initially, but I've soon got over that. To me it is now a challenge to overcome, & I'm sure it will be much easier with resources like this one.
