:D Greetings fellow PWD! I have been watching this forum for quite a while, but have not posted any introduction at all.
I am based in Wales and have had type 1 diabetes for 15 years. I have been on an Accu Chek insulin pump for the last 7-8 years.
I am a mountain climber and outdoor adventure enthusiast and have travelled to numerous far flung locations of the world, and can be frequently found talking to others about diabetes and living life to the full in many related diabetes forums.
I am keen to see everyone manage their condition successfully and would like to see patient education improved in the UK.
What else? ....
Keen to talk with folks about how I manage to do the things I do and hopefully motivate and inspire the newbies!

Welcome Nikki,Seems you are going to be a great asset to the forum.
Regards, Catherine.

hopefully, there isnt any viruses associated with the website .... Illl check my ISP. Thanks for letting me know. You may want to have a look at (LINK REMOVED BY MODERATOR DUE TO VIRUS CONCERNS) as well which is the mountain orientated group we formed a few years ago ....

Hi Nikki,

You may want to take some serious action about your website. I just tried it and my anti-virus immediately blocked a script that was trying to load onto my PC and then a trojan that was attempting to load itself.

I have removed all references to your websites until you are able to confirm that your site is clean

IN THE MEANWHILE IF ANY MEMBERS HAVE LINKED TO EITHER OF THE SITES THAT NIKKI HAS MENTIONED THEN I SUGGEST THAT YOU RUN A VIRUS CHECK IMMEDIATELY.

Nikki I have just realised that the offending link is part of your signature so can only be removed by you. Can you please delete it as soon as you read this to avoid any further problems.

I'd be very keen to pick your brains. I have an ambition to walk the chemin de St Jacques from Le Puy to Santiago, I've done the first 200km but would like to the rest (1450km) in one go.
I haven't looked at your websites because of the possible problems so I hope you'll come back to us.

Hi there - email to (remove spaces) - nikki @ active-diabetes. co. uk and I can email you back. i am currently trying to sort out issue about the possible virus and trojan issue. Yikes!

Hi there again Phoenix,
What information are you specifically looking for? Let me know and Ill try and help!
You might want to also try the Diabetes Exercise and Sports Association website (you may want to google for the website URL).
Nikki

Hi Dennis and everyone else!

Thanks so much for telling me about this virus issue. This has now been fixed. Its since I have been profiled in the new book "The Diabetic Athletes Handbook 2009" which listed my website.

Can you please check whether any of you are still getting virus warnings on www.active-diabetes.co.uk?

Thanks,
Nikki
