Hi to everybody on the forum
having been a member of a motorcycle forum I did'nt realise there was one for diabetes...! my name is neil and I was diagnosed diabetic about four years ago ..the usual symtoms weight loss, thirst and lethargy...perscribed the usual medication including Metmorphin and gliclazide, simvastatin, and amlodine which brought my BG down from 28 to a steady 13 and I've felt great.....and then I discovered your website and decided I should'nt feel great...I have been given the same advice as everybody else ie..low fat and if you feel hungry have a bag of crisps...I now realise that I was'nt even near to being healthy so with all the info I've gleaned from this forum and tearfully said goodbye to my sandwiches I am now down to 9bg..not brilliant I know but I do know what I am trying to achieve and how quick low carb approach gets results...many thanks...it will be an interesting meeting with my diabetes nurse in april
take care

Hello Neil and welcome. :D

Well done on the reduction in your BG levels – and yes it will be interesting to see how things go at your next clinic in April as you will probably have your numbers down even more by then. 8)

Hello Neil,

Welcome to the forum. What was the motorcycle forum called, as a ex-biker, but still interested in bikes,I wouldn't mind having a read.

Hello Nigel
there are a few bike forums on the web I tend to look at the honda trail bike forum and the Yamaha xt660 forum as I am cosidering buying either the Yam or a transalp. My last bike was a be BMWK100RT which I sold and bought a piaggio scooter which my wife absoloutely detests.....I do think there is probably a forum for just about anything although with the hassle I've been having with this diabetic lark I think this one is proving the most informative....well it is to me
cheers neil

Thanks.

I use to own a few Suzuki GS motorbikes, last was bike was a Kawasaki 600R. Wife won't let me have one now, says that I have a choice between a motorbike or her, I've started helping with the suitcase and my bikes on order! :D
