Hi, I'm Ellie and I'm joining to find/share support and to gain some info on certain issues I've come across.

I'm 21 and was diagnosed as type 1 around 18 months ago. I coped pretty well at first, it's the effects I'm seeing now that scare me! Trying to start living a cleaner lifestyle but am struggling balancing excercise and steady sugars. I seem to constantly be hypoing after working out! Also starting to notice permanent marks/lumps around injection sites which is a pain and recently had a constant numbness down the outside/top of my left thigh?

Will be posting I'm relevant forums anyway, would be nice to familiarise myself with a few faces :)

Hi Ellie and welcome to the forum. Exercise and diabetes is a bit of a juggling act and takes some experimenting but it can be sorted. Do you test before & after ? Depending when you exercise, you may need to reduce either basal or previous bolus. Failing that, try a handful of nuts or similar to avoid the hypo. The lumps around injection sites could be a build up of scar tissue or lipohypertrophy.

Try to rotate injection site regularly or another area, buttocks or arms.
