Hi @davegreen77 , and welcome to the forum!
p.s. won't be reading about low carb as I love my carbs and manage my diabetes and weight well enough in this mode.
You'll encounter a lot about low carb on the forum, but that's because we have many T2 members. We do have some low or lowish carbing T1's/LADA's, but thankfully we don't have the almost religeously low carb pushing T1's you see in some Facebook groups!
It's all about personal preference, and as our forum ethos clearly outlines: "Diet is a relevant, but sensitive topic and should be treated as such. Please be considerate to other people’s dietary choices." and: "There is rarely one way of dealing with diabetes. Be tolerant and courteous to those preferring to adopt a different approach." (https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/community-ethos-forum-rules.50278/)
So I think you'll fit right in!

Hello and welcome,

I'm one of those low arb type 2's @Antje77 referred to.

One of the things I love about this forum is its inclusiveness. Everyone is welcome. It's also good to get different perspectives from people.

Welcome.

Hi Dave,
No worries, us low carb fanatics are more often than not type 2's, and won't bother you as a T1, unless you ask explicitly for it. ;) That said, we won't encounter one another much as you'll dwell in a different part of the forum, but just wanted to say hello, and welcome.

So, hello, and welcome!
Jo
