Hello I am an overweight carb/ sugar addict not diagnosed but trying to follow a low sugar/ carb diet and looking for a glucose monitor for watching sugar levels in myself and my family, please can I have recommendations on an easy to use reasonable priced monitor, accessories, tips on when to test etc.

The codefree is quite popular and thr cheapest. In general a fasting BG test first thing in the morning gives you a consistent baseline measure.

To understand how your body reacts to different meals test just before eating and two hours later. There are guidelines on this site which will tell you whether your results should be of concern.

Many members that are type 2 use the sd codefree monitor as the strips are the cheapest

While you are on the site why don't you take a look at the lowcarb diet ,it helps with weight loss and general good health ,yes lots Suger in potatoes pasta, rice etc but loads of other veg ,meats are good for you

Thank you for your replies, I have ordered a code free as recommended, I have been following the FAST DIET (fasting for 2 days on 500 calories) for 4 weeks and not lost any weight or any inches off my waist so I was going to try the 800 calories for 8 weeks with a low carb low sugar diet, I have signed up for the low carb diet on this site so fingers crossed!
