Hi
Have you had all the tests for GP or was it just the DSN making an assumption?

I know you suffered with probs for a while now.

I have some stomach issues but not GP but my colon is inert to point of not working at all without medication...

It does make me eat very little. Ie no salad except skinned cucumber and avocado. Really boring.

Mashed, soft veg. Ultra boring!!

Nothing with leafy veg like lettuce, or spinach or cabbage. No onion or garlic or tomatos.

There is a brilliant facebook page Giftuk. (Gastro intestinal failure). It has diabetics and persons with GP and persons who have GERD, EDS, colonic inertia etc.

Huge amounts of info from people on it...

Like all us humans... we are all different. Our stomachs more so than diabetes. What one person finds good for their stomach etc makes others really ill.

There are persons that are tube fed, some have the same meds as I currently do and are ok providing we eat little.

I am OTT on making sure I have adequate minerals and vitamins.. if I cant eat foods with vitamin C in or onions etc then I take supplements like oregano oil etc.

You need to be under a specialist for GP, these hospitals are quite rare. Normal Gastro consultants in secondary care hospitals wont have enough experience. You will need to get a good care team at a tertiary care hospital.

Magnesium can sometimes help with this. The cheapest form is usually Magnesium Oxide, which doesn't get absorbed and consequently helps move things along a bit too much sometimes. If that's too much, other forms (magnesium malate, etc) might be gentler.

Have you had the tests for GP as GP will also cause prominantly the vomiting and nausea as the stomach overflows upward as it cant empty. People get a lot of acidity too and there teeth can rot from constantly puking, even on a dew sips of water.

Have you had the egg test? Have you had the test for slow colonic/colonic inertia?

Also there are a lot of drugs that can also make stomachs bad and give nausea. I was on a hormone cancer tablet and constant nausea 24/7/365. Awful. Nobody at all related it to this blooming tablet. I underwent horrible tests etc (that did come up with more probs) but they were done because of the nausea... as soon as I made that decision to stop that cancer tablet every ounce of nausea disappeared....

I'm not suggesting stopping meds at all, but suggest that you have to analyse your own foods to really find out probs.

Slow colon can be worked out yoyrself by eating sweetcorn and inspecting poo!!

Acid reflux can be helped from not eating tomatoes and onions..

If you have had a confirmed diagnosis of GP I really would recommend Giftuk as a facebook group..

hi i dont have vomiting symptoms only symptoms im getting is bloated feeling and foods not raising sugar level except for white bread and crisp such as transformer a snack crisp which seems to raise sugar levels the DSN said she will make a appointment to see somebody soon regarding this problems im having so hopefully doctors will be able to help as of yet they haven't done any test yet for GP

but yeah nurse is saying i have Gastroparesis

May be, may be not.... your nurse should not be suggesting it really.... she cannot determine cause and should not be guessing..... I have been really too skinny and on my worst days with colonic inertia I look 9 months pregnant.

You must onsist upon tests to have a diagnosis of GP... you must also try to eliminate foods and things that can cause the problems... it is possible to identify foods to keep drugs to the minimum and to keep healthier for longer but it is definitely not an easy journey if you have to go down the route of jpegs for feeding.
Far better to get a bit OTT on analysing foods and drinks nd nutrition now and photos of poo etc to show a consultant than to be just accepting a nurses thoughts that you have GP. There is also gastric autonomic neuropthy that should be considered too...
