Hello

Hi @shire ,

Welcome to the forum.

Give us a little bit of info on what type you are diagnosed & (or) any prescribed meds?
This can help with any specific advice..

Don't worry about any potential "blunders".. :)

Morning @shire welcome to the forum. You will soon get the hang of things so don't worry. As @dbr10 has said plenty of help advice and support on here. You could give people a better insight as to where you are re diabetes ie when were you diagnosed? What type are you? HbA1c results etc You only have to post what you are comfortable with. Any questions ask away! :)

I was diagnosed as type 2 in January but it was borderline with the Hb1AC being 48 but that and the combination of the fasting test and glucose test was what led to the diagnosis. I'm not on diabetes tablets but have lots of other medication for Chrohns and heart troubles. Have had triple heart bypass which didn't go to plan

I would hope that - with that fairly low Hba1c level that you can easily cut down on carbs and soon find yourself back amongst the normal people - maybe if you tot up your daily intake of carbs and compare it to my (the full blown diabetic) aim of less than 40 gm per day, you could see where you could make changes - though for most people just swapping the dense carbs for something lower should do the job.
Rather than potatoes or rice have cauliflower or courgette, eat burgers or sausages with a knife and fork rather than putting them in a bun, just fine tune your menu to suit your needs and that will soon reduce the amount of carbs

Hello I'm new to the forum and I'm not good with these forums so apologies in advance for any blunders
Welcome, Dont worry, if of any consolation or peace of mind for you, not to worry or apologise, I am not into forums or how they work either, to degree , only know how to post a reply, dont know how to start or post a question topic in the first place, one day I guess it will click Ha.Ha.... only today a lovely member, took the time to guide share with me how to attach a real live photo, whether I get to work it out is another thing, but such a kind gesture, hopefully I will. Blunders stop life from being boring, or forums perhaps, I am sure you will pick it up better than myself, patience a virtue if you dont succeed try try again.

Hope this assists to feel a little more comfortable, as your not alone in not good with forums, there are I am sure others like myself, out there.
