Hi, I am new. Diabetes for 60 years. Originally type 1, then 12-15 years ago altered diagnosis to mody. I am wondering why type 1 diabetics, who were taking dapagliflizon for kidney /heart problems, were taken off the drug. Thank you

Hi @Suz\anne , welcome to the forum.

SGLT2 inhibitors (flozins) hold a risk of ketoacidosis, even without high blood glucose to alert you on a possible issue.
I think this is the reason why it's not generally advised to use this type of medication in T1's.
