Hi, I’ve been diagnosed Type 2 for around 8 years and probably in denial for the majority of that time!
I’ve recently had a big scare with a 6th cranial nerve palsy which has caused me to have double vision and am temporarily (hopefully!) unable to see properly with my left eye. It’s aparently been caused by my diabetes and high blood sugars. It will hopefully self resolve in around 6 weeks or when my blood sugar is under control.
I’m on metformin 2g daily, gliclazide 80 mg daily, Humulin I 13 units once a day and started Ozempic last week. My HbA1c is currently 84 but has been 115 at its highest. I’ve been on Alogliptin and dapagliflozin at different times but had reactions to them so had to stop.
I’ve finally realised I need to get control of this! After joining this forum and being inspired by others stories and the help and support offered by members to each other, I’ve started a strict low carb diet and Ozempic which will hopefully help get my sugars down!
I’ve got lots of other complex medical issues which make exercise difficult but I will try and increase what I am able to do as well.
Thank you to everyone for sharing your info and support, nice to ‘meet’ everyone, I look forward to sharing my journey and hope to help others too!
