Hello all,
My name is Colin, I have been type 1 for 47 years.
I am using an Insulin Pump in conjunction with Dexcom CGM
I was supposed to be running the London Marathon again tomorrow for the 7th time as part of the JDRF team but had to withdraw 2 weeks ago due to a recuring foot problem.
Have just recently began to lose hypo awareness so I have just began a 6 week intermittent fasting regime in order to readjust basal rates - hoping that this will work.
I have had an interesting life with Diabetes, fought it for many years, paid the price in my eary twenties ( diagnosed aged 8 )
Suffered with Annorexia and Bulemia for many years, lost my eyesight for 2 years as a result of teenage rebellion.
Am a good boy now and try to set an example to others, I work wwith both UK Diabetes Charities, and interact with lots of T1 kids by way of public speaking about my life.
Have just stumbled across this site........ anyone listening?

Colin.

Hi Colin and welcome to the forum :)

I look forward to hearing about your experiences, and I think that other members would be especially interested to hear about your Marathon running and how you coped with your diabetes then.
