Hi

Thought I would look at this forum and found it very interesting.

Diagnosed 2 months ago with Type 2 - I was diet controlling the sugar levels it wasn't working. Back at my Doctors 2 weeks ago and she asked me to get more blood tests. Since then my sugar levels have shot up now on Metformin and glycoside and also an insulin injection at night. To say my life has changed dramatically is an understatement. I am coping with testing the blood sugar levels, taking the medication and the diet what I am not coping with is the changes in my eyes - I am a PA and my eyesight is everything to me. My eyes keep changing one minute I am short sighted, one minute long sighted. I did wear glasses for reading previously but even they are now not strong enough. I have had the Retinopathy test and it was clear to go back in a year.

Help - please tell me it gets better an my eyes will settle and go back to where they were.

Michelle

Hi. Your eyes will be affected by high blood sugar. Once this settles so should your eyes. Fortunately being on insulin will make it easier for you to get your sugar levels right quickly
