I never imagined I would have a link to diabetes. After all, I was always fit and active and never overweight.

You can imagine my shock when a chance encounter with a blood–glucose meter revealed high fasting blood glucose.

None of the usual dietary fixes worked ... until I stumbled across the Newcastle research carried out Prof. Roy Taylor and his research colleagues.

After three days of low-calorie eating, I now have completely normal fasting blood glucose and have maintained this for three days.

I suppose I have joined the forum because I want to share my story with people in a similar position.

Hi Domitian and welcome to the forum:)
I, and other members I am sure, would be interested in hearing more of your story.

Thank you. I think the best way to tell it is to respond to other people's questions and postings.

What frightened me though was the fact that my ALC result, while within normal range, as Prof. Taylor comments on in his lecture, was a marker for a diagnosis of Type II.

I am only three positive meter readings into my new life of a properly functioning insulin mechanism, so we shall see how it goes.

If I have indeed found a solution, it is because I am one of those people who simply cannot tolerate fat in their liver.
