:?
...........I am waiting for my appt. for a glucose tolerance test on June 9th.
I strongly suspect that I have diabetes 2 because I am always thirsty and feeling altogether very tired.
I went to the GP after experiencing tingling in my hands and being a retired nurse,(took early retirement - I'm 58 ) I was very frightened, so there we have it.
My mum and her father had it and so does my brother, so there is a strong family tendency.
I also have weight to lose, ( put loads on after retiring, getting stressed from having Wrinklies - in-laws - to look after ) but after reading about the limit on potatoes, rice, bananas etc. I am loathe to go back to Slimming World as these were a staple and filling part of my diet.
Does anybody have any diet advice for me to start between now and June please ? I don't want to aggravate the situation by eating everything and anything, but June is a long way off.
I would appreciate any comments.
This certainly sounds like a great forum to be involved with, by the way.
