Hi
I have recently been diagnosed with T2. I'm scared, depressed, overwhelmed, wanting to hide away and forget about it all - really don't know what to do or where to turn. Not sure what else to say - except that his isn't like me at all - would expect myself to grasp this, find out as much as I possibly can, and then get on with it - but that's not what's happening - I haven't even taken the paperwork the diabetes nurse gave me out of my bag - just pushed them as far down as possible. If I think about it at all I cry - so I push it away.

Hi Sue.
Welcome to the forum.

I totally understand how you must be feeling. We have all been there, shocked, depressed and ready to just give up. Please don't do that. We are here to help and support you. You will be confused and probably angry too. Just give yourself some time and let it sink in. It's not the end of the world. There are many of us on here who have had Diabetes for many years and live great lives. We eat well, we play hard and we generally just enjoy life. Nothing much changed there then ?

Have a good look around and when you feel up to it ask questions. We will try our best to give you answers. No question is too trivial.

Hope you feel better soon.

Ken.
