    Hi everyone,
I am Priyanka, a Type-1 Diabetic, on insulin for almost ten years now. As we all know that the possible cure for type-1 diabetics is yet to come. However, I came across certain things which I wanted to share with everyone here. I have been searching net and reading a lot of books with respect to Type-1 DM and one thing which I found was that a virus attack could be a possible reason for this disorder. Even many doctors agree to this. There may be various other reason too.
As I read, I came to know that whenever the body is suffering from some sort of bacterial attack the first and foremost thing that is ought to be done is to avoid all sorts of dairy products (every thing from milk, butter, cheese......to ice creams. Remember not to take tea or coffee even). This helps in preventing the bacteria multiply. As a result, the insulin intake will lower down.
Secondly, the body is to be provided with various vitamin and mineral supplements that include all sorts of Vitamins(A,B,C,D,B1), calcium, magnesium, zinc, alpha-liquoic acid etc. I am quoting a few here.
(Do not start taking any supplements without consulting your doctor and without carrying out medical tests to find out for their deficiencies)
I have also gone through certain posts in this forum where I came to know that many people are already taking these supplements. I request them to kindly reply to this post and share their experience and tell us how did they came to know about taking those supplements? whether it has been prescribed by their physician ? and what results have they seen after taking those supplements? Please do tell us.
My doctor didn't believe the above mentioned things when I had a with talk with him. So I would like to hear from all Type-1's here about their response to this post.

Looking forward to a reply from all my Type-1 friend.

    Love and regards,
    Priyanka.
