Hey Zand, congratulations on reaching your goal and getting your stone award!
Are you not happy with your progress? From what I can gather you are counting calories, counting carbs, counting steps etc. you must be seeing numbers in your sleep! Serious suggestion here, have you thought of doing slimming world? I know you go for the weigh in obviously, but do you not fancy following the plan? Red days, loads of super free veg and low carb syn choices? The plan does work and it might give you a focus free from counting everything. Just an idea. Don't hit me
I am now in the dog house! I could be joining @andy 1234 as I decided to make a pastry free quiche ( thanks @popsy for inspiring me) so I needed more filling . The local shop had no crab so I trundled off to sainsburys. God it's heaven but the kids were starving so they had dessert first and have just finished the quiche now! I am living dangerously and having a glass of wine! Walk on the wild side by the late great Lou reed!
Yes I am very happy with my progress, just scared that it will all stop now, like so many times before. !
Hi Zand just been catching up with your posts as yesterday was not able to read the forum as spent most of the day at hospital having my pre op tests and meeting the anesthetist .
On reading through your posts I felt you were disappointed with your weight loss this week. As you know I have followed your progress and am so pleased for you every week when you lose weight. Just think of that pound you lost sitting on the end of your nose you would be so glad to lose it then !
You have done really well nothing at all to be disappointed about . A stone is a lot of weight to lose so the next one will make a real difference to your health and well being . Keep it up girl we are all routing for you Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
OK, finally managed to put breakfast into myfitnesspal. I was impressed that my fish oil is listed there too. I think it might be easier just to stay in bed all day and not eat anything though.
When my husband was safely leaving the house this morning and just about to lock the door behind him, he 'politely suggested' that I can be a 'stroppy cow' at times. So sorry everyone, I was very cross with one person only on this thread yesterday (no, not Andy12345..and 'Happy Birthday' to Mrs12345), I was really mad with myself, not you guys. I will try to keep a lid on it in future, but can't promise anything. Hubby has suggested I stay away from all technology when I am in a mood.

@this is too difficult now that I have had time to think about this I realise I have been looking at the problem the wrong way round. It's true my metabolism is slow. My basal temperature is 1.9 degrees below normal on average. It's true I don't lose weight as easily as most people. So what I have always tended to do is to cut calories in order to lose weight, but this only slows the metabolism more. What I need to do is exercise more and use different types of exercise to help my muscles to burn more so that I do lose weight like everybody else. So I think I am going to try eating the recommended amount for a while, even if I don't lose weight or I put on weight, and then try to exercise to that. This is going to be a long haul for me, so there's really no point trying to lose weight too quickly in the beginning if I am going to jeopardise future weight loss and mess up my body even more.Sorry Zand but if you are not losing weight then you are eating too much for the amount of exercise you do.
We were all young and foolish once! I have been known to sing a rant with some swear words in it to a lullaby tune when kept awake by my eldest for the 10th consequtive night at the hospital when she was a baby. She was premie (3 months) then at 10 months old grabbed the remote control, hooked it through the handle of a mug of coffee and it went all over her. My hubbie didn't speak to me for 24 hours and we were both interviewed separately at the burns unit to check we weren't battering our daughter. At 2am i was singing very quietly I wish you'd beep beep go to sleep, you're doing my beep beep head in. I was also driving 60 miles a day to do our washing and feed the cat. A nurse appeared and said "I often wonder when a rock becomes a shake! " On day 11 I went into the nurses station and they were not quite quick enough with the monitors and I saw that they had cameras in all the rooms and were monitoring people. Hope they had fun watching me get dressed. It was then that I realised they had sound. My own mother blamed me too so we didn't speak for 2 weeks. It was at Christmas too. My hubbie did appologise afterwards. My work arranged for me to have counselling and it was brilliant. So if you're considering it - go for it! It works!Just love that song, but my grown up son was horrified then fell about laughing when I told him I used to sing that to him to get him to stop crying when he was a baby. Thinking about it, I guess the lyrics are not exactly lullaby material! I only sang the "hey babe....." Line though!

@Totto Walked away from computer after making my last comment and thought of other comments I have reacted badly to. Instantly the swimming one came to mind!!! We have a holiday soon and I have just asked an astonished husband if there is a pool at the hotel. There is, so I have torn house apart looking for old costume - one size too small - so I have ordered a new one. I can't promise I will continue going to a pool after my holiday, but I will try to swim while I am away.
@zand
Hi, I didn't think you had enough opinions, so I'm giving you mine
it sounds like your your body is taking a hit. can you swap your walking for non weight bearing exercise?
walking one or 2 days, swimming/hydro therapy, bike/rowing machines etc the others.
but you exercise for fitness, not weight loss
