Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.

Assume it was butter icing? If that was the case, a 2 hour test would make sense (the high fat potentially slowing the impact of the icing sugar)
Really?
Oh, no, that just gives me an idea on what can be a substitute for my cheese craving?

That's not bad - how much did you have, just a small slice, a mouthful or two?

I wish I could say I only had a mouthful but I scoffed the lot of this bad boy!

2 hours was 7.5

Will test again in 30 mins as it's gone up!

Down to 6 at 2.5 hours so that's quite good really!

Just one cake or all of them? Sort of thing I would have done, but couldn't anymore.

Oh no I only had one!

I don't like cake. Can I have a pound of cheese instead, please? ( they do look good though if you like that sort of thing)

Arrrrgh! Who mentioned cheese? I was just about getting over the craving.

Sorry.... it's the only thing that keeps me going. I must be getting better as I can buy it and not eat it all in one go these days. I'm hoping that I can manage one of the proper Scandinavian crispbreads that I have bought today with a sliver of cheese as a lunchtime treat.

I'd rather have cheese instead of cake too! I'm just practising for my daughter's party!

I would look on the cake eating as saving some child from a sugar rush. Why not serve them cheese instead.
If I allowed cheese in the house again my significant other and I would be in competition as to who would eat it first. I'd win, would just have to go out and buy more before he noticed.

That's why cheesecake is the perfect compromise

Yes, Curves, now if the local one hadn't closed I would go there. I tried to go there twice before but couldn't because my heart wasn't working properly then, so it's a bit frustrating that it's closed now I need it. I've just checked other locations - the nearest is 20+ miles away. Yes you're right it won't be perfect, but I had been hoping that it would only be my tummy that was affected, but it's not looking good for the rest of me either! I'll get over it, but I may be turning mirrors round, because I preferred my face as it used to be.. I love your comment about the dog it made me giggle (and therefore wobble)

I understand where your coming from Zand. I've talked about this with one or two colleagues at work and they say they think I look better than I did before and people don't really look at the detail. My clothes are hiding a lot and I'm not proud of my body yet I'm happier with it than I was.

I just tell myself I'll go shopping and be a clothes horse. Claudia Schaffer eat your heart out ;-)

I know you're beating yourself up about your negative thinking because that's what I do and it's what the psychologist worked on with me. However, when I begin to get negative I try hard to think about the positives.

I've been blessed with the chance to lose weight and get wrinkles.

Take care Zand.

P.s. I'm wondering what the market will be like for a diabetes UK calendar? Please may I be Miss November? Wrinkles don't show up much in cold weather ;-)
