Help! I have so much weight to lose

Yay you did club 10!!

Well done. I used to stick my stickers on the fridge rather than in their books. More motivating that way.

I found a pair of jeans I've not worn for five years. I'm in them today! Feels great to know I'm now the size I was after my first daughter was born. That sounds a bit odd but it's an achievement!!

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.
Ta. Well done you too! It's going to take me ages to get down to the size I was after having my kids. In fact, I probably won't ever get there, because my target weight isn't that low...... and I still have to drop 6 sizes of clothes before I get there too!

I know it's stating the obvious, but that equates to 2.5lb a week. Bearing in mind you usually struggle to lose, plus you had a great, relaxed holiday in the middle, I'd call that quite a result!!

Just moisturise, moisturise, moisturise that skin and it'll have the best chance of shrinking its maximum amount.

Onwards, and downwards?
Yes definitely a result! I am amazed at the 2.5lb a week. The metformin is definitely working as is the support from you guys. I have put this much effort in before, but not got results anything like this.

And yes moisturise, thanks for reminding me.....guess who hadn't thought of that one yet!

Another great result Zand you must be so pleased 2 stone !!!!!!. Sorry you are not feeling well hope you feel better tomorrow x

Thanks Connie, yes I am delighted. My husband sent me a text saying he was thrilled too (he doesn't often do texts!) I'm feeling a little like I have flu, so I've slept all afternoon, I hate wasting time like that.

I was still fat when I had kids so it's not a super amazing achievement really! Reckon I need to lose about 5-6 stones....!! Not thinking about that though - half a stone at a time (although I measure in kg!!)

We can do it though. This is the first time I actually believe I can lose weight permanently. Weird but good xxx

And for anyone else main-lining on body butter moisturisers at the moment, I have been using a selection from here: http://mothernaturesgoodies.co.uk/en/199-butters . I can buy in bulk, for my long trips, and it's so much cheaper than Body Shop, who charge £13.00 for 100gr, unless on offer. I'm not advertising here, as I'm only a satisfied customer.

Right now, I'm on a local palm butter, which is lovely, but that's just because i ran out of my usual stuff.

I can finally say that I've lost 2 stone . Its taken ages but its gooooone .
Feel so happy .Thanks for keeping me motivated people.

Sorry, Jamrox, I have been busy with family problems and stressed about them too.

My son has left Salvador and is now in Recife. He got to the Italy v Costa Rica game OK, he landed at 8 am and got to his hotel by 9, but had to just dump his bags there and go straight to the stadium as kick off was at 1. The hotel is an hour's walk from the tube and then there is an hours tube journey to the stadium and he wasn't too sure of directions. Unlike England he still has 2 matches left. He is glad I helped him make the decision to pick 2 centres and then apply for tickets at those stadiums before the draw was made, rather than spending a fortune on internal flights following England around. He seems to be having a great time. He played beach football (rest of the world v Brazil) and has been to Praia do Forte and seen the 'psychic turtle'. He wasn't impressed, but than as a kid he always said Shamu at Sea World was a puppet because you could see the strings! He can be quite grumpy and cynical at times......must take after his father;)

Today I went out for a morning walk for 45 minutes. there were 5 other people too, one of whom was the lady I talk to sometimes. She waved and we both changed direction so we could meet and chat. She said 'I haven't seen you for a while, I was getting worried.......OMG how much weight have you lost now? That's amazing, you look great and you are walking so quickly now too.' And she gave me a hug. A female in the real world gave me a hug.

Hi Zand when I went to Boston which was only for 5 days I managed to put on about 5 Pounds so your gain is nothing to worry about . I think mine was down to discovering the joys of banana daiquiris in the bar of our hotel !

Me too! Since my diagnosis I'm probably on here way too much. I've now got some virtual friends who have supported me through this and I would list them all but I'm afraid I might forget someone and cause offence! I say virtual as we only communicate through the forum! I like reading about them and what's going on in their lives.
