Help interpreting cholesterol numbers?

Just to update, I've spent the past couple of weeks reading the cholesterol thread. Thank you so much @bulkbiker, it really put me on the right track in terms of the science. I've watched the youtube videos, and I've been listening to podcats from Diet Doctor, Peter Attia, etc on my nightly walks.

I stopped taking the statins (on my own) and Trajenta (advice from doctor)....with only minimal negative impact on my blood glucose readings overall. Screw the cholesterol numbers.

I've been wearing a Libre for the past 6 weeks and really been tracking the impact of what I've been eating. With the nightly walk, I've now lost 15 pounds since October 29th (keeping track daily with HappyScale).

Only issue now is trying to get enough fat into my diet to replace carbs....I'm always hungry....

A1C set for the end of January, Libre is suggesting an estimate of 44 at the moment. It will be interesting to see the cholesterol numbers and my doctor's reaction to them and the lack of statins.
Don't go overboard but creamy coffee is yummy. And raspberries and cream?

Thanks for the suggestions of cream in coffee and cheese....I've taken my coffee black for so long that it would be hard to change. But I can definitely much on cheese more often.

Hi Valuator,
In my mind statins are evil. I have pushed back at my GP when she tried to prescribe them. For about 7/8 years my cholesterol was about 5.3 + or - 0.2. Two years ago I stopped eating meat and now my cholesterol is 4.7 or so. I've also halved my T2D meds and increased carb intake in that period.
Good luck.

Other than stopping the meat did you make any other changes? More veg, less bread, different carbs than before, more cooking from scratch, less processed foods, more exercise or movement, stress different? What did you weight do? Measurements around the waist? Etc etc Just looking for the full picture not a snapshot of one element

Did a blood test last week, and I will get my A1C and cholesterol results on Thursday. Fingers crossed for a good result. My Libre estimates an A1C of 45.0 so I'm quite curious to see how close this matches the bloodwork. I think I'd be pretty pleased with that number, although some of it is due to being on Trajenta for about 50% of the time span....my numbers are definitely higher the past couple of weeks despite significant walking and careful LC eating. But I am feeling really good and confident I can manage a continual slow improvement. I'm also down 15 pounds according to my 10-day moving average compared to 90 days ago!

The results are in. A1C of 6.2% or 44.

Cholesterol was a mixed bag....LDL went from 2.39 to 4.60, but on the other hand my HDL increased from 0.92 to 1.04 and my triglycerides decreased from 2.90 to 1.64. So, my TG/HDL ratio is much improved.

I feel like I am on the right path...my worst blood sugar readings are from 3am to noon....despite not eating breakfast lately. So hopefully that will just continue to improve. My post meal readings are basically flat as long as I follow the plan.

Onwards and upwards! I must say that this is all due to the huge amount of knowledge I've gained from reading the forums and digging into vairous podcasts, Diet Doctor, Jason Fung, etc. I must say if I was listening to my DN clinic I'd be in dire straits....it really bothers me when I hear of others' disappointing results in my community ....and know that at the nutrition sessions they are told to eat whole wheat bagels for breakfast. I kind of want to scream!
