Mum can't remember if she has taken her insulin. I have checked her blood sugar level which is 11. she feels sick and a bit tired.

Check again in an hour. If it is going up, she probably didn't take it. If it is going down, she probably did. The odd rise is not going to kill her.

It won't help now, but for the future, check out the NovoPen Echo. There is a gizmo on the end that indicates when the last injection was taken and how many units were administered. It should be available on prescription.
Is there any other way of telling if she injected? Does she keep used pentips anywhere before disposing of them that might give you an idea?
