If your diabetes nurse is worth a carrot they will TELL your doctor you need more strips!
You have to remember GP's have to deal with all sorts of ailments and dont deal with diabetes on a day to day basis. I find even the doctors in the hospital sometimes struggle when things arent going right! 12mm needles seem a bit excessive. I used to be on the 8mm but they reduced them because I'm muscley and they thought I was injecting into muscle!
Hope that helps and feel free to pm me if you want any more info
