If you really can't get on top of it, there are other medications to try - repaglinide, sulfonylureas, even insulin ultimately, and lots of others besides. At least that way your blood sugar will be more under control, even if the better solution is to reduce carbs. What's not a solution is having high blood sugar all the time, though.
