I had several blood tests taken 9 days ago and was told to call my GP for test results. I am hard of hearing and having spoke to the nurse I am no wiser. I heard her say my liver function test was abnormal but not to worry the test would be repeated. The nurse went on to talk about the blood test for Diabetes I am almost certain she said my blood was 3 or 4 but taked about old test results and a new test result. I was then told again not to worry and that I would recieve a letter from my doctor and I could recieve a letter from someone to do with Diabetes. The result of 3 or 4 was confusing because she was relating the results to old and new results. Still awaiting letters and was hoping someone may shed some light as I am worried......

Hello.
First thing is don't worry (easier said than done).
Is it worth ringing the nurse back and explaining you are hard of hearing and are unsure what she told you? If they say something you don't understand you can always stop them and ask them to explain - I know our nurses are much better than the docs at this sort of thing.
If that doesn't appeal, do you have a family member or friend who could ring on your behalf? As long as you give permission it should be OK. I have had to do this for my mum before.
The other option I have done is to go to go to the surgery and ask for a printout of the results. It is amazing how helpful they can suddenly be.
Good luck and I hope you are able to resolve the confusion.

Thank you, I think I will go to the surgery and ask for a print out. I could ask one of my children or grandchildren however the receptionst always puts you down for a call back. The call back could be hours later as it was when I called for my results. I will go to the surgery tommorow I may not understand the results and may have to ask for more help off you guys.

Thank you very much
