Diet only
I have been doing the LCHF diet since I was diagnosed in March at 97 mmol/mol. My blood test in July showed 55 mmol/mol. My next blood test will be in October. I have lost 1 1/2 stone. I don't seem to be able to get my BG below 7 and it's really bugging me. My FBG was 7 this morning.

Yesterdays food consumption:-
B. A few blueberries, ground linseed and full fat Greek yogurt.
L. Prawns, 2 tomatoes, piece of cheese and 2 Nairn oatcakes with butter. A third of a 9 Bar.
D. Piece of roasted chicken, 2 Portobello mushrooms, small piece of cauliflower cheese. 2 Strawberries with a dollop of double cream.

Today

B. 2 low carb pancakes with lemon juice.
L. 60g tuna in spring water, mayo, 2 tomatoes, 2 Nairn oatcakes with butter. Third of a 9 bar.
D. Half a chicken breast wrapped in bacon,(cooked a whole breast but couldn't eat it all) 3 mushrooms, cauliflower cheese. 10 blueberries and double cream. OH had a meal that I couldn't have so that's why I had chicken two nights in a row)

I have single cream in my coffee.

I have also been taking Ceylon cinnamon capsules, twice a day but they do not appear to be doing much good. Nothing I am eating is giving me spikes.

Any suggestions please.
Thank you
Carol

I think you may have plateaued. Which means that your body is adjusting itself again and then you will lose it slowly. I can't see that you need to change what you are eating, looks good to me!
Well done on your results so far! Have a bit of patience! It's a marathon not a sprint!

What's happening with your weight at the moment, and are you still hoping to lose, or are you now slim enough?

I found my blood scores notched down as my weight moderated. I'd achieve an average score then sit there for an indeterminate period, then suddenly, without making any changes, the average would notch down.

A number of others echo this behaviour.

A woman can never be too slim. According to BMI I should be between 6 and 8 stone, can't believe I've ever been that weight. So yes I've still got weight to lose.

@carol43 If I did the conversion right, 7 mmol/L is 126 mg/dL. I was diagnosed a month before you and am experiencing what you're experiencing. That said, my fasting blood glucose and post meal blood glucose is slowly coming down. I've lost 17 pounds, and a shirt and pants size, look great, but am still 50 pounds heavier than I was in high school. I encourage you to continue doing what you're doing. :)

Only suggestions I have are to add more non-starchy vegetables, perhaps a magnesium supplement and vitamin D, nutrients we're almost all deficient in, and to walk, swim, or bike daily. I find walking 1 to 3 miles a day makes a huge difference.

Here's more information on magnesium and diabetes - (I take 150 mg mg magnesium citrate with meals, and 2,000 IU of vitamin D daily)...

Congrats on your greatly improved blood glucose levels. I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but you've made significant progress. :)
