We're off eating altogether lately as our meals are getting so boring. I'm not a good cook at all, my mum lived on coffee and fags so I never learned and also I have quite bad ME and get very easily tired. So I tend to stick to easy-to-cook meals with no faffing about. I need to find out how to give meat more flavour - we eat a lot of lamb in stews and mince but I'm scared to use gravy mix as I think it's high in carbs. So I just add veg into it. The lamb is nice but could be a lot better. Chicken I love. But again it tends to be just chicken and veg. I'm not sure what am asking here, just something LC that's tasty would be nice. And we don't eat spicy or exotic food - mainly because it gives me hellish heartburn but also I dono what to do with it. For afters there only seems to be jelly cream and greek yoghurt which is bland and boring!!

Hi, hehe I guess it can be boring, currently I’m happy with boring in an attempt to avoid future nasties but I have become quite the expert in chucking in the towel and going down the life’s too short path, nothing easy about diabetes, just a couple of ideas, thick rib-eye steak medium rare, ain’t no one calling that boring! (Used salt both sides an hour before cooking) In the yogurt you can add strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, I add milled flax seed for texture (and fibre) and some walnuts, surely you can’t call that bland? Have you tried turning your mince into well seasoned cheese filled beef burgers? I don’t like lamb but could you maybe turn the lamb into a mild curry? I don’t like cauli rice but love plain old cauliflower with the curry sauce as an a compliment. Have you tried roasting the veg. Making cheese cauliflower mash, no potatoe cheesy bubble. I literally YouTube “best way to cook…? there’s always loads of alternative methods, I just choose the ones that look good. There are endless ways to change food simply, mustard pickle on veg as a weird example, it won’t take a lot of research to give you a month of ideas you havent seen before. I have no idea if any of my rambling make sense, best of luck spicing up your food (without the spice :)

Have a read through this thread here @fumanchu, not all recipes are low carb but there is lots that are, some simple some more complicated than others but you might find something you like or some inspiration

This site has loads of low-carb dinner recipes:

Several of us post our daily food here. Quite a wide range.
Plus as you get more used to it and lose your sweet teeth, the need for 'pudding ' goes away. Either replace with just a square or 2 of very dark chocolate or treat yourselves to a tasty different cheese perhaps?
