Hi everyone,
I'm sorry that my first post on here is a help! and i will get round to introducing myself at a later date but right now i'm very worried about my fiance.
He is 39, he is type 1 and has been since diagnosis in 2000.
He is on novorapid when he eats and takes Lantus of an evening before bed.
Well this morning I get up to him saying he feels awfull and that he 'thinks' he forgot to take his lantus last night and proceeded to test his BG and it was 27!!!!! He has always been a quite high diabetic and approx 5 years ago he got DKA. He recovered very well until last year when he had a massive heart attack.
He has eaten today (2 x weetabix) at about 11am and then 2 x slices of toast at about 2pm.
He came back down to about 17 I believe but about half hour ago tested himself again and his BG was back up to 26!!!!!
I've suggested hospital but like he says all they'll do is put him on a sliding scale for 3 days slowly injecting him with insulin which he can do at home??
He has said that if he still feels poorly tomorrow he'll go to the doctors or hospital but at the moment he says he 'thinks' he forgot to take his Lantus which has only ever happened once before.
I'm REALLY worried but I suffer from Genrelised anxiety disorder so I do worry a lot more than other people!
Thank you for reading and I hope you can help put my mind at rest.
MNB xx
