Hi I have just joined in the hope that I can get some help. I have been feeling really ill for a few months now and dont seem to be getting anywhere with the doctors as I also suffer with hypothyroidism so think they put everything down to that.

I have lost quite a lot of weight despite having an underactive thyroid (which normally makes you gain weight), Im suffering terrible pain in my wrists and arms, neck and also other parts of my body, I always feel exhausted and also have sore itchy toes, the itching is worse of a night and first thing in the morning, my feet also feel really cold and tingly. Could anybody tell me if these are symptoms of diabetes. The only reason I ask is because a friend said her father suffers with his feet and he has disabetes. I have two children to look after and Im feeling really low with it all.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Im not sure if my local pharmacy does it or not, I could ask. I was just wondering if the symptoms sounded like it or not as Ive been worrying myself sick as to why I feel so ill.

Thanks for reply.

Tree peony is right. If you go into your local pharmacy (even some of the bigger supermarkets do it now) you can ask them to do a blood test. I'm surprised that your doc hasn't tested as you are probably being tested regularly for the thyroid problem, so it's only another vial of blood.

Thanks I'll pop in tomorrow.. Ive been tested for arthritis because of the pain im in which came back negative but he never mentioned testing for diabetes.
