can anyone help with what the following means from my diagnosis report:

Assess pancreatic islet cell function

Distinguish insulin secreting tumors from exogenous insulin administration as a cause of hypoglycemia (commercial insulin does not contain C-peptide). Sera from Insulinoma patients have high insulin and high C-Peptide levels wheres hypoglycemia from injected or exogenous insulin shows high insulin and low C-peptide levels

Increased Levels - Insulinoma & Type II Diabetes

Decreased Levels - Type I Diabetes & Exogenous Insulin.

I think it means you're gonna get a C Peptide test. This measures the amount of insulin ( if any ) your pancreas is developing.

Looks like you've had a c-peptide test. This is primarily used to determine diabetes type. In Type 1 c-peptide levels are normally reduced and in Type 2 they are normally higher than average. They probably did it as you are only in your 20's.
