Sorry and hope someone helps you. I've found that my supplier can do a 1 day urgent delivery but recently had similar (pump admin team hadn't done their paperwork properly and didn't get the implications for those of us who are insulin dependent) and was pleasantly surprised that at least the bag of 1/2 ml syringes I bought were only £1.50 and I already had the bolus insulin.
Do you have basal around that is in date should you need it? If not it may be easier to get hold of levemir or whatever than those pump supplies.
Why do these things happen on a BH weekend!
Phew. I am a closed looper (tandem and dexcom) and appreciate just how clever it all is when I am back to 'manual' control too. Thanks Nicole,
I’ve got some pens sorted now, I’m on a closed loop system and my control was horrible before so just trying anything to keep on it! Pump Supplies arriving Tuesday so won’t be too long anyway. Had 2 infusion sites failed in 12 hours which never ever happens either!
Hi Nicole, my 22 Yr old son has got to change pumps soon and is considering the Tandem and omnipod (he's presently on accuchek Combo but no longer available). Can you let me know how you find the Tandem and any pros or cons? Thank you.Phew. I also has problems with evening exercise & hypos. After a discussion with my consultant aswell as reducing basal by 80% I also 1/2 my bolus doseage for my teatime meal. Its achieved much better results. If I exercise in the morning I get away with 50% reduction in basal.Hi Emila,
Am also a Tandem user, couple of downsides - the tubing, but that's really a minor niggle when compared to the benefits and adjusting pump for exercise, I still cannot fully crack evening exercise on the pump without going hypo. mornings are find due to insulin resistance. If used with the Dexcom CGM then it becomes a closed loop system as the G6 communicates with the pump via Control IQ and makes minor basal adjustments, I rarely if ever, get a hypo during sleep and if going low my pumps auto suspends insulin until levels come back into range, I simply input carbs for meals and the pump does the rest, lots of adjustments required to settle in and get ratios right and even then as with any diabetic our needs change over time so it's always something to be mindful of, but all in all, a fantastic system.
