Help!!! Think I'm having my 1st hypo

Hope the sugar is starting to kick in for you. A lot of people say that a liquid works faster for them, lucozade, orange juice, full sugar squash or fizzy drink. Do you have anything like that around.

I'd also say for me that I would need more than 3 dextrose if I were that low, probably at least double that. I'd proably take a couple more and test again in a few minutes to see which way things are going.

Hope you are feeling better soon

Stay calm. Is there anyone with you? Make sure you have your glucose on you.

Test again after 10 mins. If not come up take a couple more glucose tablets.

Eat a carb snack - like some toast

Glad you're improving. I hope you will be able to recall the signs so you can nip it in the bud next time.

Glad you recovered now! What i would reccommend is if your blood sugar is that low (under 3) i'd probably have some lucozade as it will hit you a bit quicker than the detro tabs, but maybe thats just me as i'm super sensitive to insulin and often need liquids to sort me out!

A reading of 1.8 is dangerously low. Close to losing consciousness. Like hellbunny said, get a bottle of lucozade and have a couple of swigs if below 3. Its the fastest acting hypo treatment.

Glad to hear you're feeling better now, carbsniper!

From what I know, the hypostop/glucogel stuff works very well. You might actually benefit from one of the DCUK HypoWallets found here: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/shop/productd ... pid=441719 - they're ideal for emergencies and small enough to keep with you everywhere you go.
