Help with books, forums etc etc.

Hi there hope you can help.

My mother has been told she has diabetes and high blood pressure.

She is 57 years old, the Dr told her that its in her genes, which i think is the worst thing to say.

Do i take her for a second opinion?

I would like to ask where can I go from here? Is there books i can read and forums i can join.

I really want to help my mum and i have also been told that if the mother has it the son can get or WILL get it.

I really want to learn more about this can you assist?
