Hi ALL

I went to see nurse to get my blood results curenlty type 2 no meds yet my results were as follows
fasting was 7.9
Hbc1 i think thats what she called it was 48.6 she said this was high and has referred me back to doc cos she feels that she may put me on tabs .

Would love to know some of your views, back to docs again tom ???

Theresa

A fasting Blood Glucose reading of 7.9 mmol/L (Plasma) is a little on the high side, but could be a lot worse, though your recent HbA1c reading of 48.6 is good and shows that in general you have mantained your average B/G levels in the preceeding 120 days very well.
You may well not need to go on any diabetic medications at this moment in time (your Dr will ultimately decide upon this) and he/she might well consider that by your choosing a carefull type of diet together with some modest regular exercise, that is all that is currently required to keep yourType 2 diabetes held at bay.

Highish numbers but nothing to be overly concerned about. See your doc and ask what the options are. He/she may suggest meds but that's your choice. As already suggested, moderate change in diet and a little more exercise may be all that's required. Good luck.

Hi All went to docs on friday and she has put me on 10ml of meth??? , but when i checked packet before taking i had been prescribe 500mg instead so have not taken them and will go back to doc tommorrow to see what has happened. Theresa
Thank you both for your advise

Looks like you have been prescribed Metformin as I think that it the normal initial dose that most GP's prescribe. It should help a little in getting your levels down but do read the forum for advice on diet and exercise.
